Join The Club
I've never been a part of a cooking club per se, although I might argue that a restaurant is a cooking club in itself.
Someone decides on the food to be cooked, everyone shows up at the same time (ish), and we sweat it out cooking said food in a 100 degree kitchen for hours at a time. Just a bunch of club members having a jolly old time.
Don't worry, this is not that. I'm not trying to secretly staff a restaurant that I'll run out of my house, although...
When I started this newsletter, I knew that I wanted an interactive aspect to it. And since I've amassed more than zero subscribers, I figure I might as well get the ball rolling.
Now, before you get too excited (or terrified), I have no intention of anyone meeting in person and cooking together. No, this will be very low-key, cook at your own pace, in the comfort of your own kitchen, at whatever time of day or night you want.
Here's all I have in mind to begin with:
- A dish is selected. This could be very specific with a recipe included, or just the name of a dish and you interpret it as you wish.
- A date is selected that you would cook the dish by. This could be a specific date, or the end of a certain week or month.
- You submit a picture of the dish you prepare so that I can share them in a future issue.
- Finally, simply overnight a portion to me and I will livestream a brutal (but fair) critique of your offering to determine if you can remain in the club.
That's it! Don't like what we're cooking one day? Don't make it. There's no contract here, no fees, no barrier to entry. Just a fun thing to do if you're into fun things to do, and one less meal that you'll have to plan.
Ok, I guess we could hold off on number 4 until we're a little more established.
What do you think?
If you would be so kind as to click the link below and answer the one-question survey so I can gauge the interest of such an endeavor.
